Quetta Gladiators vs Multan Sultans Betting Tips 31/01/2022

The 7th fixture of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 sees Quetta Gladiators take on Multan Sultans on Jan 31 (Monday) at the National Stadium Karachi. The match is to begin at 8pm IST.

Teams Status

Multan Sultans

The start to Multan Sultans’ title defence could not have gone any better. The defending champs have won both of their opening matches so far and in contrasting styles too.

They brushed aside Karachi Kings in the opening match but had to dig deep to secure their win over Lahore Qalandars.

The win over Lahore was much more impressive as it came in a successful chase of a massive 207-run target. Their captain Mohammad Rizwan, who can apparently do no wrong these days, contributed another 69 but his wasn’t even the best knock, for that honour went to Shan Masood (83).

These are early days but it is still safe to say that the Sultans will be very hard to defeat this PSL due to their incredible strength and depth in batting.

Quetta Gladiators

After being defeated by Peshawar Zalmi in their opening match, Quetta Gladiators got off the mark against Karachi Kings on Saturday.

They skittled the hapless Kings for a mere 113, thanks to baby-faced Naseem Shah’s five-for. The 18-year-old wrecked Karachi’s fragile middle order early on before returning to see off their tail.

After such stellar work by the bowlers, there wasn’t much to do for Quetta batters but they still did so in style, with their openers Ahsan Ali and Will Smeed – whose partnership had produced 155 runs in the previous match – again generated 76 runs.

Ahsan scored 57 and Smeed 30 but the best player of the match of course was the young Naseem.

Tipster’s Angle

Tip: Quetta to win @ 2.28

Full disclaimer: We don’t necessarily dislike Multan here but we just like Quetta at the odds they are available at. With a front two firing on all cylinders and two-headed pace attack featuring Naseem and Mohammad Hasnain aided by Mohammad Nawaz’s spin and Sohail Tanvir and James Faulkner’s experience, Quetta look good right now. We recommend a punt on them. The odds have been sourced from Sportsbet.

Tip: Sarfaraz Ahmed to score more than 21.5 runs @ 1.87

Over the first two games, Quetta captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has batted just once and even then got just nine balls, on which he scored an unbeaten 16. We think this is the game where he’d get to bat more and when that happens, he’d cover the spread. The odds have been sourced from Parimatch.

Conclusion

These two teams have played seven times, with Quetta leading the head-to-head comparison 4-3. We think they’re going to add to their lead and end Multan’s unbeaten start.
