Pure Sequences Required
Pure sequences are sequences that have no joker card in them. The winner is decided keeping in mind that they must have formed a minimum of 2 sequences, out of which one must compulsorily be a pure sequence.
Minimum Sequences Required
A sequence refers to a series of cards. In Rummy, players must form at least two sequences.
Maximum Number of Sequences
The terms in Rummy ask players to make a maximum of 4 sequences. However, players can simply make fewer but longer sequences to win.
Minimum Sets Required
When cards of the same value but different suits are put together, they are called a set.
Maximum Number of Sets
Players are allowed to make a maximum of 2 sets in any variation of Rummy.
Number of Decks Used
Every deck of the card has 4 different suits, namely, Spades, Clubs, Hearts, and Diamonds. Besides these sets, each deck also has 1 joker card. That adds up to 53 cards in each deck. The number of decks used in Rummy depends on the number of players playing. Only one deck is used if 2 players are playing. But if 6 players are playing in one table, the number of decks used is 2.
Printed Joker Per Deck
When playing with one deck, the players have one joker card. But if played with two decks, two joker cards are found.
Joker Usage
Both the joker cards can be used to make sequences or sets. However, whenever a joker card is used, the sequence formed is called an impure sequence.
Table Size
Rummy offers two different types of tables. The first type is the 2-player table, which, as suggested by the name, uses only one deck and lets two players sit. The second type is the 6-player table, which deals with two decks of cards and 3, 4, or 5 players and plays here. However, in some sites, it has been found that cards are dealt with after the table is full.
Calculation Unit
Point system varies along with the different variations of Rummy. Such as, in Pool Rummy and Point Rummy, the calculation is done through points. The winner has the least points. In other cases, such as Deals Rummy, chips are calculated. The winner here has the most chips.
Drop Option
If a player feels that their cards are not up to mark and won’t help them win, they can easily drop their cards.
Initial Drop
At the very beginning of the game, players can drop their cards and get 20 points. However, Deals Rummy does not offer the chance of dropping cards if the table has only 2 players playing actively.
Mid Drop
Mid drop refers to the dropping of cards in the middle of the game. Though it is not recommended, it is allowed. Similar to the initial drop, the mid drop is not allowed in Deals Rummy if the table has only 2 players playing actively.
Maximum loss
The maximum points/chips up to which the scores can be calculated are 80.
Wrong Show or Invalid Declare
One can only declare their cards once all the sequences and sets are finished. It must be kept in mind that there must be at least one pure sequence.
Empty Seats Allowed on the Table
2 player tables require all seats to be filled, but that is not compulsory when playing at a 6 player table.

This is the number of chips that are distributed at the starting of the game.

In any variation of Rummy, there is only one winner.
Winning Hand
The winner is the one who declares the right set of sequences & sets first.
Rebuying
Eliminated players can rejoin in a pool game, but only if the highest score is less than 79 points and 174 points in a 101-pool game 201 pool game, respectively.
Split Winnings
The players can split their winning if, by the end of the game, 2 or 3 players remain.
