Bangladesh vs Afghanistan 2nd T20I Betting Tips 05/03/2022

The second T20I between Bangladesh and Afghanistan will be played on March 5 (Saturday) at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur. The match is to begin at 2:30pm IST.

Teams Status

Afghanistan were expected to fare better now that they are playing the format of their liking but they were abysmal in the 1st T20I.

On a Bangladesh pitch that surprisingly did not have much help for the bowlers, the Afghans bowled first and found wickets at regular intervals but still ended up conceding 155 runs, which was still a gettable target.

It was the Afghan batters who caused their team’s demise. Their top order was singlehandedly wrecked by Bangladesh’s Nasum Ahmed, who had sent the top three packing by the third over. Najibullah Zadran (27) showed some resistance but wickets kept on tumbling around him, with Shakib Al Hasan (2 for 18) and Shoriful Islam (3 for 29) joining the party.

Captain Mohammad Nabi (16) and Azmatullah Omarzai (20) were the only other batters to get into double figures as the Afghan batting unit’s frailty got exposed yet again.

Bangladesh batters had not wrapped themselves in glory either, with the sole exception being one-down batter Litton Das, whose 60 off 44 helped his side get to the respectable 155 otherwise it could have been a different kind of result for them.

Truth be told, apart from Das’ knock, there was nothing impressive about the Tigers’ batting performance. Their bowlers, however, were on top of things.

The win was very important for Bangladesh as they had won all of their previous eight matches in the format. It also gives them guarantee of not losing the series, which is only two matches long for some reason.

Tipster’s Angle

Tip: Afghanistan to win @ 2.502

Conventional wisdom says that one should never chase their losses or a particular outcome, but this is not that. We backed Afghanistan in the opening match and it backfired but we’ve observed that the Afghans are powered by a diesel engine that takes time to get going, just like it happened in the ODI series when they won the third game. Another plus of the last game’s loss is that the Afghans are now available at even better odds. Therefore, we’re going to put our faith in them again. The odds for this play have been sourced from Paripesa.

Tip: Most sixes in the match – Afghanistan @ 1.79

Afghanistan is not a four-hitting team. Most of their batters are power hitters instead of placement geniuses. They’re more muscle than elegance. Therefore, we see them winning this battle. The odds have been sourced from Sportsbet.

Afghanistan have had a tough tour of Bangladesh so far. This is their final chance to salvage their pride and keep their reputation of a decent T20 side in tact.
