Eoin Morgan also chipped in with over 400 valuable runs for his side. Varun Chakravarthy was the leading wicket-taker in the tournament for KKR with 17 wickets in just 13 matches.

The Mumbai Indians started off poorly with a two-wicket loss to the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Kohli won the toss and put Mumbai to bat first, where they only managed to score 159 runs. Despite taking the match into the last over, Mumbai lost the match by two wickets. Chris Lynn and Suryakumar Yadav were in some good knick with the bat. Apart from these two, no other players chipped in. Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up two wickets for just 26 runs. Even the debutant Marco Jansen had a great outing as he also picked up two wickets. They will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways. They had a brilliant last season as they finished at the top of the table with 18 points from 14 matches. First, they beat Delhi Capitals in the 1st Qualifier and then again went on to beat the Capitals in the final. Ishan Kishan was exceptional last season and was the team’s leading run-scorer last season with 516 runs from just 14 matches. Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult led the wicket-taking list for MI with 27 and 25 wickets respectively.
