Teams Status
West Indies
Despite Kieron Pollard and Obed McCoy missing the previous game, the home side has already shown that they have a lot of depth in the squad for the T20 format.
In the second game of the T20I series, Nicholas Pooran and his men excelled in all departments against Australia.
Despite losing Andre Fletcher in the third over with 13 runs on the board, Lendl Simmons showed positive intent and attacked Josh Hazlewood to get the side off to a brisk start.
Opener Lend Simmons has looked in good nick but missed out on half-centuries in both games, He will be eager to go the distance come Tuesday.
The hosts will be pleased with Shimron Hetymer’s performance in the previous game. After failing to capitalize on his good start, Hetymer notched up his maiden half-century for West Indies in the T20 format. The left-hander played exceedingly well and delivered a blistering 61 runs off 36 balls.
All-rounder Dwayne Bravo once again showed his experience with the bat. He smashed a quick-fire 47 off 34 balls with the help of one four and three sixes. He was well supported by Andre Russell, who chipped in with 24 runs off just 8 balls with the help of two fours and two sixes.
In the bowling department, leg-spinner Hayden Walsh once again put in an excellent performance and picked up key wickets of Mitchell Marsh, Josh Philippe, and Moises Henriques in the previous game.
Sheldon Cottrell bowled well and claimed two wickets, whereas Andre Russell, Dwayne Bravo, Fidel Edwards, and Chris Gayle picked one wicket apiece.
Australia
The visitors might make two changes to their playing XI for this important clash. Alex Carey will come in place of Ben McDermott, who has struggled to produce decent scores for Australia.
On the other hand, Mitchell Starc has leaked a lot of runs in both matches so management will bring in Jason Behrendroff for this game.
The big concern for Australia will be the lack of runs from Captain Aaron Finch. The right-hander has been in woeful form with the bat and will be looking to end his lean run in this fixture.
After producing a decent score in the series opener, Matthew Wade perished for a duck in the second game of the series.
With the likes of Moises Henriques and Josh Phillipe failing to convert their decent starts, the middle-order once again crumbled and offered no resistance against West Indies bowlers.
In the previous game, the side suffered another collapse as they went from being placed at 101 for 3 to 140 all out.
In the bowling department, the onus will be on the likes of Josh Hazlewood, Jason Behrendroff, and Ashton Agar to make crucial breakthroughs.
