Teams Status
Gujarat Titans
The Titans lead the league with 12 points to their name after seven fixtures, of which they have lost just once. That sole defeat was to none other than Hyderabad themselves in their first clash of the season.
In that game, the target set by Gujarat of 163 was 10 of 15 runs short. They still stretched the game and had Hyderabad wait until the final over of the match for the win but still they were second-best in their only game so far this season.
Since that defeat, they have notched a hat-trick of wins, the most recent of which was against Kolkata Knight Riders. And like so many of their wins, that one, too, was the construct of their bowling unit, who is one of the best in the league.
Rashid Khan, Mohammad Shami, Lockie Ferguson and Alzarri Joseph make for one helluva unit and Hyderabad batters should be wary.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
Talk about incredible bowling units and here is another one. If Gujarat have what they have, Hyderabad, too, are no slouches in the department. Actually, numbers say that their ball hurlers namely Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, Marco Jansen and T Natarajan collectively form the best bowling attack so far in this IPL.
When it comes to bat, while Gujarat has had a few heroes doing most of the heavy lifting, Hyderabad has more of a band of brothers.
Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, and Abhishek Sharma have all been making important contributions.
Hyderabad are likely to still be without Washington Sundar for this game.
