Teams Status
Australia:
After defeating defending champions England in their tournament opener, Australia will enter Tuesday’s fixture with high confidence and are unlikely to make any significant changes in the starting XI.
The management will be extremely pleased with the performance of the players, especially the batters, in the first match where they dominated against a strong bowling lineup.
The coaching staff will be hoping to see a similar kind of performance in the upcoming matches as well.
In the batting department, Kangaroos will be heavily relying on the likes of captain Meg Lanning, in-form opener Rachael Haynes, star all-rounder Ellyse Perry, wicketkeeper-batter Alyssa Healy to score the bulk of the runs and put the opposition under pressure.
On the bowling front, the onus will be on the likes of pacers Megan Schutt, Darcie Brown, Perry, Tahlia McGrath along with the leg-spin of Alana King to dismantle the opposition’s batting lineup by claiming timely breakthroughs.
Pakistan:
After suffering a thrashing defeat by 107 runs in the first match, Pakistan will enter the second fixture in low confidence and are likely to make a few changes in the starting XI.
The management will be extremely disappointed with the overall performance of the players in the match against arch-rivals India where, despite removing six top-order batters at the score of less than 125, the Girls in Green never managed to keep things tight and eventually suffered a thrashing defeat.
There will be serious concern about the overall batting performance and approach where at no stage, Pakistan looked in the hunt for a successful chase
The coaching staff will be hoping to see the players put on a much better display to have any hopes of producing a positive result against one of the tournament favorites.
In the batting department, the Girls in Green will be relying on the likes of Captain Bismah Maroof, veteran top-order batter Javeria Khan, Sidra Ameen and all-rounders Nida Dar, Aliya Riaz and Fatima Sana to score the bulk of the runs and give the bowlers something to bowl with.
On the bowling front, the onus will be on the likes of pacers Diana Baig, Anam Amin, Fatima Sana, Aliya along with the spin duo of Nida Dar and Nashra Sandhu to restrict the opposition to a manageable total by claiming timely breakthroughs.
