Teams Status
Sunrisers Hyderabad:
The management will be concerned with the performance of the team in the first outing where they looked second-best in all three departments.
The major concern would be the side’s bowling department, especially the spin unit, which has weakened considerably after the departure of Rashid Khan.
The batting form of captain Kane Williamson and wicketkeeper-batter Nicholas Pooran will be under the microscope as well after failures in the first fixture.
With so little depth on the bench, the management will be hoping to see the star players putting their hands up and make themselves count when it will matter the most.
Lucknow Super Giants:
Therefore, they will be entering the match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad as a slight favourite. After securing a much-deserved victory in the previous outing, the Super Giants are likely to field a similar playing XI.
One positive news for the Super Giants is that West Indies’ star all-rounder Jason Holder will be available for selection after completing three-day mandatory quarantine. He is likely to replace Australian pacer Andrew Tye in the playing XI.
Holder’s inclusion in the match against his former team will surely strengthen both the batting and bowling of the Super Giants.
Other than Holder, all-rounder Kyle Mayers will also be available for selection after completing a mandatory three-day quarantine.
The batting form of captain KL Rahul, veteran wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock and hard-hitting Evin Lewis was great in the match against Chennai and the management will be hoping to see all three of them continue the good work in the matches to come. Manish Pandey was the sole big-name batter to fail in that match and he will be eager to contribute more in the match on Monday.
