They began the tournament with a victory over New Zealand women. In the second game, they managed to eke out a close win over England women before losing by 155 runs to India.
In their last game, against Australia on Tuesday in Basin Reserve, West Indies put in an abject batting performance and were dismissed for 131 runs in 45.5 overs.
Captain Stefanie Taylor showed fight with the bat and top-scored for West Indies with 50 runs off 91 balls. Hayley Matthews was the pick of the bowlers for West Indies women and claimed 1 for 31 in her eight overs.
Bangladesh women
Nigar Sultana-led unit finally managed to break their losing streak with a narrow win over Pakistan women in a game played at Seddon Park, Hamilton. The team management will be hoping that the side can maintain their winning momentum in this fixture.
Bangladesh showed a lot of fight against South Africa in their opening game played at Dunedin. The Bangla Tigers were comfortably brushed aside by New Zealand women before winning their first game against Pakistan women.
For Bangladesh women, Fargana Hoque was the star performer with the bat and scored 71 runs off 115 balls. Besides Fargana, Captain Nigar Sultana and Sharmin Akhter produced decent scores to help Bangladesh a modest score on the board.
Leg-spinner Fahima Khatun was the best bowler on display for Bangladesh women and finished with figures of 3 for 38 in her eight overs. Besides Khatun, Rumana Ahmed bowled well and claimed two wickets against Pakistan women.
