The Royal Challengers from Bangalore started off brilliantly against the Mumbai Indians. They started off with the ball brilliantly with the ball. Harshal Patel was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up his first fifer in T20 cricket for just 27 runs from four overs. The debutant Kyle Jamieson and Washington Sundar chipped in with one wicket each. RCB then started the chase slowly until Maxwell came in. Maxwell along with the skipper Kohli stitched 50 odd runs for the third wicket. Then AB de Villiers helped RCB to finish on the high. in the last season, they finished at the fourth position with 14 points from 14 matches. They started off brilliantly but faded away towards the business end of the tournament. They made it to the playoffs but lost to the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the eliminator. Devdutt Paddikal was excellent last season as he was the leading run-getter for RCB with 473 runs from 15 matches. Even Virat and AB chipped in with over 400 runs in the tournament. The spin wizard Yuzvendra Chahal was the team’s leading wicket-taker with 21 wickets from 15 matches. They will be hoping to take the momentum from this match going into this tournament.
