South Africa bounced back really well after losing the first ODI. They lost the first ODI by three wickets as Pakistan chased the target of 273 in the last ball of their innings. Despite losing the toss, South Africa put up a massive total of 341 on the board courtesy of four half-centuries from Quinton De Kock, Temba Bavuma, Rassie van der Dussen and David Miller. Anrich Nortje was the pick of the bowlers for South Africa with seven wickets to his name in just two matches and was instrumental in South Africa winning the second ODI. South Africa is very likely to make some changes to the playing XI.

Pakistan slightly faded away with their bowling in the second ODI as they conceded around 70 more runs than the first ODI. Haris Rauf did reasonably well when compared to other bowlers as he picked up three wickets and was very economical as well. Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Hasnain and Faheem Ashraf chipped in with one wicket each. They didn’t get a good start while chasing that mammoth total of 342 as they lost Imam-ul-Haq very early for just five runs. No other player apart from Fakhar Zaman made any valuable contribution. Shaheen is the second-highest wicket-taker with three wickets. Despite losing the second match, Pakistan are likely to stick to the same combination.

Conclusion

Both the teams have a really good chance to seal the series as the series is tied at one apiece. But South Africa will be without their five superstars. So, it wont be a surprise if Pakistan take the series.
