Islamabad United vs Multan Sultans Betting Tips 20/06/2021

Teams Status

Islamabad United

Two of the hottest and most in-form teams of PSL 2021 meet in the blockbuster qualifier of PSL 2021. It’s one of those games where pundits do not have to assume and presume too much about how these sides will fare against each other because they played each other just this past Saturday, which was the final day of round-robin matches.

Islamabad triumphed during that meeting, just as they had in their earlier clash in the season back on February 21.

On Saturday, both sides were missing a bit of their usual intensity as they gave chances to several fringe players on account of them having already sealed their qualification.

For Islamabad, names such as Umar Amin, Muhamamd Akhlaq and Brandon King got rare opportunities as regulars such as Usman Khawaja, Colin Munro and Hasan Ali got rested.

The regulars will be back for the qualifier, which means that Islamabad will be looking to secure a third straight win of PSL 2021 over Multan.

Multan Sultans

Multan Sultans were undefeated during the Abu Dhabi leg of PSL 2021 until they met Islamabad United on Saturday. In their defense though, they would point towards Hammad Azam, Sohail Khan, Usman Qadir and Mohammad Umar to claim that they were far below their full strength.

In the qualifier though, the big guns will return, giving fans another opportunity to find out what happens when the best two teams of PSL 2021 square off.

Multan do not have a winning record against Islamabad and that should be a cause of concern for them. Of the eight matches played between these sides, Islamabad have won five and Multan just three. Thus, a bit of record correction should also be in the minds of Multan players.

One small dilemma for Multan will be the performance of Usman Qadir against Islamabad on Saturday. Qadir has been Imran Tahir’s understudy since the league resumed but he was brilliant in the loss to Islamabad, giving up just 22 runs in his four overs as he also picked up two wickets. Captain Mohammad Rizwan now has a good headache of picking between two superb leggies.

Tipster’s Angle

Tip: Islamabad United to win @ 1.68

Islamabad, as a franchise, have the experience of pulling off victories at this stage. They are, after all, the only two-time champions in PSL history. Multan have superb combinations and a rising star in the form of PSL 2021 leading wicket taker Shahnawaz Dahani but this is still only their second year in playoff territory. Last year, too, they were extraordinary during the regular season but plain ordinary in the playoffs. We might back them to do better this year … just not in their very first match. The play here is Islamabad moneyline @ 1.68 (22Bet).

Tip: Mohammad Rizwan total runs over 27.5 @ 1.832

Even before being appointed the Sultans captain, Mohammad Rizwan had developed a habit of anchoring the innings for Pakistan, especially in big matches against difficult opposition. This is just that stage. He got 26 off 24 on Saturday, which wasn’t his best showing and he’d be kicking himself to do better this time. The play here is to back Mohammad Rizwan to score more than 27.5 runs @ 1.832 (22Bet).

Conclusion

Both these sides have a lot of talent on their rosters and have their combinations sorted. Islamabad, because of their winning pedigree as well as plethora of hard-hitting all round options, have an edge.
