Teams Status
Rajasthan Royals
After a run of three straight defeats, Rajasthan Royals came back to winning ways in their last game, beating the high-flying Chennai Super Kings by seven wickets.
The comfortable win came in a run chase of a sizable, 190-run target.
It was made possible thanks to a solid all-around batting performance by the Royals, for whom everyone that padded up also performed admirably.
The stars of their run chase, though, were Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube – both scoring half-centuries. While Jaiswal’s knock was more whirlwind at the top, Dube’s was measured and made sure the team crossed the finish line.
Mumbai Indians
Mumbai, meanwhile, are coming off of a defeat. They had snapped their three-match losing streak a match before but against Delhi Capitals in their last game, they again returned to losing ways.
For their fourth defeat of the UAE leg, they had their batsmen to blame once again. A star-studded line-up such as theirs combined to post just 129-8, with Suryakumar Yadav top-scoring with 33.
The bowlers tried their best to make a match out of that, and nearly did as well, but in the end, the total to defend was just too small.
The defending champions are now second to bottom on the points table, with just 10 points from 12 matches, and need to be flawless to give themselves a chance to go through.
