West Indies vs South Africa 5th T20I Betting Tips 03/07/2021

Teams Status

West Indies

West Indies is unlikely to tinker with the winning combination. Captain Kieron Pollard managed to end his run drought with the bat and slammed match-winning innings of 51 off 25 balls to help the side post a competitive total on the board.

Opener Lendl Simmons has been a consistent performer for the West Indies at the top of the innings. In the previous game, Simmons showed positive intent from the start and scored 47 runs off 34 balls with the help of four fours and four sixes.

Chris Gayle, despite his failures, has got the backing of the team management and will continue to be slotted into the middle-order for West Indies. The home side is expected to make one change to their bowling attack for the series decider.

The home side might bring in Kevin Sinclair in place of Fidel Edwards, who conceded 20 runs in his two overs.

South Africa

The middle and lower-order have failed to deliver quick runs for the side in the series. Heading into the 5th T20I, this will be the biggest concern for the visitors.

Power-hitter David Miller has looked woefully out of form. After scoring in single digits in the first three games, he scored 12 in the previous game. Despite his lean run, he has been given the long rope and will be looking to deliver a decent score in this series decider.

Skipper Temba Bavuma struggled to get going in the previous game and will need to lead from the front with the bat. A lot depends on Bavuma and opener Quinton de Kock, who has delivered back-to-back half-centuries in the T20I series.

Aiden Markram, David Miller, and Rassie Van der Dussen are experienced players for South Africa in the middle order and will need to deliver runs in the series finale.

While the first game was won by the team chasing, the last three matches have been won by sides batting first.

What do the Sportsbook Say

West Indies, despite their poor record to South Africa, are the betting favorites. 22Bet has West Indies priced at 1.616 and South Africa at 2.3. Betway has West Indies priced at 1.61 and South Africa at 2.25. Leovegas has West Indies available for 1.60 and South Africa for 2.33.

Tipster’s Angle

Tip 1- South Africa to concede more than 60 runs in the last five overs.

Bowling at the back end of the innings has a major problem for South Africa in the T20 format for the past couple of years. With the likes of Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi failing to execute yorkers regularly, West Indies managed to make a strong comeback in the game, courtesy late blitz from Kieron Pollard.

Given their lack of plans for the death overs, expect South Africa to concede 60 runs in the last five [email protected].

Tip 2- West Indies to score more than 40 runs in the first five overs.

In this T20I series, West Indies openers have got the side off to a flying start. In the previous game, the home side was scoring at 10 runs an over in the first five overs.

With the likes of Lendl Simmons and Evin Lewis in excellent form, expect West Indies to score more than 40 runs in the first five [email protected]

Conclusion

With South African bowlers conceding a lot of runs at the latter stages of the innings and middle-order misfiring so far in this T20I series, West Indies will be looking to capitalize on their opposition weaknesses and deliver a clinical performance in the series decider on Saturday.
