Bangladesh
Both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, full ICC members, had to go through the opening round of the competition. Both made it out albeit hiccups in Bangladesh’s case as the Tigers were upset by Scotland in their opening match but won the next two to seal qualification for the main round.
Bangladesh batting has gradually improved over their three matches. Their scores of 134, 153 and 181 clearly indicate that trend.
Though a decent enough side, Bangladesh can at best target a deep run in the tournament. Barring a massive series of good fortune, if not miracles, they cannot be expected to contend for the title.
Their record in the main round of T20 World Cups is abysmal and they barely ever manage to beat big guns at the biggest stage.
The one positive they have is that they’ve played loads of T20 cricket over the past few months. In fact, T20Is is the only format they’ve been active in since July 22, playing a total of 18 matches in the three months since then.

Maheesh Theekshana, Lahiru Kumara and Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva all bowled brilliantly through those trio of matches.
This Sri Lanka side are not among contenders but they can be the dark horses for the tournament.
